Car parking charges are returning from Thursday 1 September 2022 for everyone apart from RZSS members who can continue to park for free as part of their membership benefits.

All car park users will need to take a ticket from the barriers on arrival and have this validated to exit the car park without paying full price (£10) at the machine.

Zoo visitors can get their discounted price of £3 (reduced from £4 in 2020) by validating their ticket and paying for parking at admissions when they arrive.

RZSS members and blue badge holders can park for free if they get their ticket validated at the members gate or admissions before leaving.

Please remember to take your ticket from the car park barriers on arrival and present it to our charity’s team to receive your discounted price.

Remember: parking spaces are limited

We are a city zoo, so parking spaces are very limited and only available on a first come, first served basis. Our car park is very popular and can fill up up early in the day (before 11am during school holidays and sunny weekends).

Travelling by bus is highly recommended where possible and our partners at Lothian Buses can drop you off right outside our gates with their regular services from the city centre (including Waverly and Haymarket train station) and surrounding areas.

We also have a handy webpage with information about alternative parking.
