Kids food and snacks

If you or the kids are feeling a little p-p-p-eckish head over to scoop an ice cream from Rockhopper Ice Cream located next to the penguin enclosure!

If you’re looking for something a bit more filling, hop over to Penguins café next door which serves kids lunch boxes alongside a variety of other tasty lunch options.

Stretch your legs

We have plenty of space for running around on our Mansion House lawn where you can also enjoy a picnic or a bite to eat from the Gannet restaurant next door.

If you fancy a bit more of a wander, we recommend walking up to the top of the hill where you can tower over the city whilst saying hello to our handsome giraffe herd!

Face painting

Transform into your favourite animal at our face painting station!

Whether the kids want to roar like a lion or flutter like a butterfly, waddle this way for some face painting fun!

Our face painting station is available during the summer and can be found next to the penguins play park.

Best views for the little ones

It is sometimes difficult for children to see our animals because of walls and fences restricting the view.

Swing by to see the animals with enclosures that have glass viewing down to the floor – allowing the kids to get up close without you having to lift them up!

These include meerkats, penguins, otters, capuchins, squirrel monkeys, chimpanzees, koalas, sloths, wallabies, kangaroos and many more!

Playgrounds

We have three playgrounds located at various points in the park that are PURR-fect for having a break from your WILD day out whilst the kids swing, climb and slide in a fun and safe environment.

  • Hang out with the chimps at the playground next door to the Budongo trail
  • Waddle your way over to the playground next to the penguins enclosure
  • STOMP up the hill to the playground next to our RAWR-some dinosaur exhibition
