Do you have a camera and can take a good basic shot, but are unsure of how to get the most out of all the settings and functions? Are you keen to find out a bit more about the basics of photographing animals and nature?
In this workshop, renowned professional photographer and former Edinburgh Zoo keeper, Laurie Campbell, will take you through the fundamentals of nature photography and help you to get more out of your camera. The equipment you need to bring is entirely your own choice and all levels can take part. He has over thirty-five years’ experience in leading photographic workshops, has illustrated and authored several books – including the bestselling ‘RSPB Guide to Bird & Nature Photography’ – and has won twenty-three awards in the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition. In 2014 he was awarded the RSPB's Lifetime Achievement Award. You can view a selection of Laurie's work on his website.
The workshops consist of tutorials as well as a tour of Edinburgh Zoo, taking in a number of different settings and animals – big and small, furry and feathery. Laurie will be with you for the entire day, giving personal attention to each participant as well as sharing many tricks of the trade. We are unable to guarantee any specific animals on the day.
We plan to go ahead with the workshops even if it's raining so please bring appropriate clothing and protection for your equipment.
